Charles Urbach is an illustrator from the USA, who illustrated more than 130 cards for Legend of the Five Rings under the ownership of AEG. From just before Samurai Edition to Celestial Edition Charles was the primary creator of art for the Stronghold class of cards. After Celestial edition, he primarily created Personality and other types of cards featuring (and sometimes creating) prominent characters from L5R lore. With the purchase of the L5R IP by Fantasy Flight Games, rights to use his artwork carried over into the new game, allowing the work to reappear on new cards.
